Oil tank "sleeve type / sheath type" flange electric heating tube for oil tanks are suitable for heating and preventing condensation of oil in tanks. They employ a pull-out structure of "heating core + metal sheath + flange installation," offering advantages such as maintenance-free operation without emptying the tank, low surface load, and suitability for explosion-proof environments. They are already maturely applied in gas stations, storage tanks, and vehicle fuel tanks.
Typical Structure and Principle
Structure: The heating core (nickel-chromium/iron-chromium-aluminum heating wire + high-temperature resistant ceramic insulation) is placed inside a metal sheath made of stainless steel or seamless steel pipe, connected to the tank body via a flange. The core can be removed for replacement without emptying the medium, making maintenance convenient.
Principle: Current generates heat through the heating wire, which is efficiently conducted to the oil through the sheath. Temperature control and over-temperature protection are commonly included to prevent localized overheating and dry burning.
Main Advantages
Maintenance-free operation: The pull-out design only requires replacing the heating core, reducing maintenance costs and downtime.
Low surface load, safer: By controlling power density and contact area, the risk of carbonization and carbonization is reduced, extending service life.
Suitable for hazardous locations: Common explosion-proof ratings reach Exd ⅡBT4, suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2 explosive environments.
Power density and voltage: Commonly used 0.8–1.4 W/cm²; voltage mostly 220V/380V; single-phase/three-phase options available.
Selection points (simplified):
Power and surface load: Calculate power based on tank volume, target temperature, ambient temperature, oil viscosity, and required temperature rise time; check surface load at 0.8–1.4 W/cm² to avoid localized overheating.
Explosion-proof and protection: Select explosion-proof rating according to the location level (e.g., Exd ⅡBT4); protection rating ≥ IP54/IP56.
Temperature Control and Interlocking: Equipped with a PT100 thermostat and a liquid level interlock to prevent dry burning; it is recommended to cool down the pump before stopping it.
Material and Installation: Select carbon steel/304/316L according to the corrosiveness of the medium; flange installation is preferred for easy core removal and maintenance; immersion type requires full submersion.
